Meet Our Bariatric & Metabolic Surgeon
Dr. T. Javier Birriel has been providing bariatric and metabolic surgeries since 2017. His passion for helping patients struggling with obesity led him to found Caribbean Bariatric Institute, a destination for expert surgical care in a beautiful, tropical setting. His goal is to help every patient live a healthier life, free from the health complications that coincide with obesity.

Dr. Birriel is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and has been designated as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Birriel specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries, including the Roux-en-y gastric bypass, hiatal hernia repair, and anti acid reflux surgery. As an advocate for individualized healthcare, Dr. Birriel develops personal treatment plans for each of our patients.
